Megan Varnadore reviewed the Snap shot for 2020-2021 Snap shot and the need to update for 2021-2022 and moving forward. She will be reaching out to the working groups to get their feed back and updates.
Megan Varnadore mentioned there may be some consolidation of the Working Group structures and identifying goals for the working groups.
Working Group updates were provided
- Academic and Campus Life - Mary Gomes reported that she has been working with Sandy Destiny and an intern on mapping Nature Connection Sights with the university map. Will be looking at restoration and accessibility and is a Service Learning project with the Ecology Psychology class. Also will be connecting with CAPS folks to integrate. Working with the Students for Sustainability Club and Talmadge Savage, will be rolling out E-Waste disposal on campus. Troy McCardle and Mary have met with folks from Reed College to discuss how to increase sustainability in landscaping. And finally working with the Sustainability Club on their Earth Day plans
- Regional Resilience - no report/no lead
- Strategy, Advancement and Communications - the Sustainable SSU icon has been completed and will be shared for use.
- Zero Impact - no report
Earth Day planning - Alicia Hodenfield and Mary Gomes have been meeting with the Students for Sustainability Club to discuss what they would like to see for Earth Day and how we can support them. They have selected 4/20/2023 12-2pm for their events.
Updates - Mary Gomes shared that we are currently working on a Community Building/Earth Day event for all Faculty, Staff and Students to participate in working with our landscaping folks. More details to follow, and it will likely be on 4/19 from 10am-12pm
