Sonoma County Climate Action Goals and Aspirations
On August 27th, Congressman Mike Thompson held a special climate change town hall meeting in the Sonoma State Student Center. Thompson was accompanied by four panelists, Sonoma Academy Senior, Kate Roney, SSU Professor, Javier Hernández Ayala, Down-to-Earth Innovations Founder, Ann Thrupp, and Emergency Physician, Joshua Weil. The event attracted over 400 people eager to hear about climate change from various perspectives. Significant talking points included climate activism, research and regulation changes.
Many Sonoma State students attended the meeting with their clubs, classes and friends. This turnout proved just how serious SSU is about protecting the planet. There are many ways to get involved in climate change action. Learn more by following the links below.
