What Goes Where?
Where does our trash belong? Recycle, Compost or Trash?
Do you ever find yourself confused about where to throw away your trash? “Is this recyclable? compostable? or landfill?” We all try our best to recycle and compost when we can. However, it’s confusing and impossible to know where each item goes.
Brieanne Forbes came up with an ingenious solution! She placed “What Goes Where?” posters at our favorite spots on campus to help with the separation of trash. She collected the most commonly used items at each location and researched where they belong: trash, recycle, or compost. The aim of these posters is to take out some of the guesswork for student, faculty and visiting member of the community when throwing out their trash. If you’re still unsure about where your trash goes, the best option is the regular trash bin. We must keep our compost and recycling free of trash for it to be processed.
Look for these amazing posters! They’re located in Lobo’s, Sip, and Charlie Browns above the green, blue and green bins.
