Germany has set a goal for itself to satisfy 60% of its energy needs through renewable energy sources by 2050. The country is on track to reach its interim goal of 18% by 2020.
This talk by Dr. Sabine Blankenship, Science Liaison Officer, German Consulate General in San Francisco, will describe Germany’s energy transformation (Energiewende) and it will examine how Germany is implementing it. The talk will also describe Germany’s progress and achievements, and explain the challenges that arise on its way to sustainability.
There will be time for discussion after the presentation.
