The current generation faces the greatest environmental challenges in history. Are they prepared and motivated to face those challenges? The Center for Environmental Inquiry is a public-private endeavor launched by SSU to give student the skills, experience and passion needed to advance environmental progress throughout their lifetimes. The Center develops faculty-employer collaborations that create high-impact educational experiences (e.g., inquiry, real-world challenges) in SSU’s outdoor classrooms (4,200 acres at 3 preserves). Example collaborations include: WATERS Collaborative and Nature!Tech. The Center’s goal is to establish a new model for higher education where environment is integral to all disciplines and all graduates understand how they are connected to the earth.
